Cavendish Library Closure

9 - 15 August 2021

Cavendish Library will be closed from Monday 9 August to Sunday 15 August. This is to carry out essential maintenance work on our air handling system ahead of the next academic year.  There will be no access Cavendish collections during this period, please borrow items you will need by Friday 6 August.

How Click and Collect works

Once you’ve located the items you need via Library search, just reserve them via the ‘request’ button and select your preferred pick up location. At the moment you can only collect from Cavendish, Harrow or Marylebone libraries but you can request books from any library (up to a maximum of ten items at a time).

We’ll email you when the books are ready for collection. This may take up to a week. On arrival to the library please show campus reception teams the email saying your books are ready for collection.

You can collect from:

Cavendish and Harrow

Monday to Friday 11am to 7pm.

Marylebone

Monday to Friday 11am to 7pm

Saturdays 11am to 6pm.

On visiting the library you’ll find the books on the reservation shelves under your surname. The reservation shelves are located by the self-service machines on the ground floor at both Harrow and Marylebone libraries and on the third floor at Cavendish.  You can borrow the books on our self-service machines using your student ID card.

Please leave the books in the plastic bag when you check them out. Cleaning materials are available for you to disinfect the self-service machine before and after use.

If you have any problems at any point during the process just contact us via our live Chat service

How do I return my books?

You can return books (including those from Regent Library) to Cavendish, Harrow and Marylebone libraries.

If you are a completed student and are unable to come on campus to return your books, please contact us via chat or ask-a-librarian@westminster.ac.uk

Things to note

We have extended the number of items you can borrow from 25 to 40.

It's vital that we prioritise the wellbeing of students and staff and minimise the number of people coming onsite wherever possible. For this reason we are preventing anyone from reserving books that are checked out to another user.

You will need a copy of your confirmation email to show to security on arrival (you can display it on your phone) and you must wear a face covering when in the building. Once items have been collected we ask that you leave the building immediately unless you have booked a study space.

Please note that whilst we strive to offer the highest standard of service at all times the unpredictable and evolving nature of the global situation means that this service is subject to change and withdrawal at short notice.
