You can request items in our collection if they are on loan, or available at a site different from where you want to pick it up.
You can also use the ‘Can’t find what you need?’ link to request print or digital items not in our collections. Please use this service, as it helps us build our collection to support other students.
Once you have found an item in the library, please take it to the self-service machine along with your university ID card to borrow it.
Items are issued for seven days, and renewed each day unless another library user has requested them.
Please use the self-service machines to return items rather than placing them straight in the book return slots. There are no library fines, but if you fail to return items another user has requested, your account will be blocked for as many days as your items are overdue.
You can to borrow up to 25 items at a time using the self-service machines.
Item details can be saved in the ‘saved items’ area using the pin icon on Library Search. This can be useful as a way of saving items for future reference. Make sure you are signed in if you want these saved permanently.
Searches can also be saved in the search history area. Once a search has been saved, it will appear in the saved searches area.
Alerts can be set up for a saved search, meaning that you will be notified when new items that match your search criteria are added to Library Search. This is a great way of staying informed about what is new in your area of interest!
