Getting Started in the Library: IT & Laptops

MacBook lending

MacBooks are lent for 24 hours, automatically extended to 48 hours for students registered with Disability Learning Support.  Borrow them from the self-service lockers.

Your IT account

Your IT account allows you to access all of the University's online resources:

You're given a username before you enrol with us. This is the letter "w" followed by the first 7 digits of your student ID number. 

To set up your password for the first time or if you forget it, log in to our password self-service and follow the instructions.

 

Laptop lending

Short-loan (24 hour) MacBook laptops are available from the self-service lockers locations across campuses.

Request for longer-loan laptops are made via your personal tutor.

Connecting to WiFi

To connect to WiFi, you'll need to:

1. Open the wireless settings on your laptop, tablet or mobile device

2. Select 'eduroam' from the list of available wireless networks

3. When prompted, enter [your username]@westminster.ac.uk followed by your password

Printing

There are printers in all the libraries which can also be used to photocopy and scan.  You can print from mobile devices as well as PCs and Macs.  Credit is added to your print account each academic year and you can top up online via the Print Portal.
