Learning Development Team

We are keen to help you improve your academic skills, succeed in your assessments, and hone transferable skills for life. We run several academic skills workshops per week (during term-time), provide appointments, email feedback, and online guides on various academic skills topics.

Ace your Assessments Week (April 2024)

Tuesday 1st April - Friday 5th April 

  • Writing Meaningful Reflections For Your Assessments: Tuesday 1-1.45pm 
  • Writing Compelling Reports:  Tuesday 3-4pm
  • Developing Your Academic Voice And Language: Wednesday 4-5pm
  • How To Write Great Essays Step By Step: Wednesday 3-4.15pm
  • Exam Multiple Choice And Techniques For Short Answer Questions: Thursday 3-4pm

  • Demystifying Critical Thinking And Writing: Friday 1-2:15pm

Appointments

Book an online or in-person appointment to get individual advice on academic writing and learning skills. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • structuring and clarifying your writing
  • time management and effective study techniques
  • delivering effective presentations
  • undertaking literature reviews and dissertations

Book email feedback for advice on structure, clarity, and coherence via email.

 

If you are interested in an appointment type that is not available (online, in-person or email), book any appointment and contact the Learning Developer to change the appointment type (contact details in confirmation email).
