Sconul Access: Students from other academic institutions

How to access University of Westminster Libraries

1. To join SCONUL Access click here. You will need your Library or ID Card number from your home institution and your institutional email address to complete the application. 

2. Once your application is approved, you can visit University of Westminster libraries, but you must book before visiting us, even if it is just to borrow or return books.

  • Book in advance, up to 11.59pm the day before.
  • You can make one booking per week, and two weeks in advance.
  • Please cancel your booking if you can’t come.
  • Please note, access is only available during staffed counter hours

Please remember to bring with you:

  • The booking email confirmation
  • Your home university ID
  • Your SCONUL Access approval email

Without them you won’t be allowed into our buildings.

Safety requirements when visiting our Libraries

Please note there are a number of actions we are asking students, colleagues and visitors on campus take to keep us all safe:

Wear a face covering throughout our campuses, with exceptions in some limited circumstances
Carry out an NHS asymptomatic test before heading to our Libraries, regardless of your vaccination status.

Clean hands and work surfaces
Avoid using lifts where possible
Maintain space when possible
Carry your home University ID card with you at all times
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have symptoms, after you
have been at the University of Westminster or have been in face-to-face contact with members of the university community during your infectious period, inform
